Ok, when it comes to party planning, most of us guys usually don't care about too much beyond having lots of people and lots of drinks, so I'm going to help you make sure you've got everything covered. The walking dead starts its third season on Sunday, October 14, so it's time to get on top of things now!
Like almost any party, you need to hit a few requirements to host it. Do you have the space to seat people? .. and for this party, do you have a TV good enough to show off to everyone? Lastly, since it's in every mention AMC can make about the walking dead... DISH network isn't running AMC currently, so make sure you're covered on that front. If you have all your bases covered, then congratulations, you're ready to start sending out the invites...
The downside to this party is, it's going to be on a Sunday. The upside, it makes one cool looking signature drink... We suggest the Zombie Shot. We can leave the drinking games up to you. Maybe you'll take one every time they lead zombies right into them, or maybe every time someone intentionally walks off alone and shockingly gets eaten by zombies... But we'll leave that for you to decide...
The Recipe: The zombie brain hemorrhage
- Fill a shot glass 2/3 full of peach schnapps
- Fill the rest of the shot glass with Baileys Irish Cream
- For decoration, add a cap full Grenadine or Blue Coracoa
Now that you've con'd someone into actually drinking that one, we'll tell you what it is... It's chunky. It'll likely taste like actual brains. That cool cloudy effect is the baileys irish cream curdling. So drink at your own caution!!
You're going to have shots , likely some beer, so we suggest something to keep everyone capable of driving home. Pigs in a blanket are quick, easy, and filling... Perfect if you're pushing the shots. Chips and some home made salsa is also a great crowd pleaser, also quick and easy to make and you can taste the difference when it's fresh for sure.
The back episodes
There's always atleast one guy who is in your circle who hasn't seen the back episodes. So if you want to start the party early or as a requirement only allow people in the door when they've seen all the episodes, you're in luck! Netflix just recently announced they have all the episodes available for streaming right now! Unfortunately we can't help your friends secure a netflix account, or a decent internet connection, but at least there's hope now!
So now your planning is complete and you can start telling people when to come out for the party.
In the meantime, here's a shot teaser for the new season...
