I've been working with computers for well over a decade, everything from building them to programming them. I'll always push for power, but there's not too many things I get as picky over as the mouse. Even though this doesn't affect performance in any straight forward way, it'll get more direct usage than nearly anything else. Today we'll be taking a look at the Sharkk Wired Gaming Mouse.
Unboxing the Gaming Mouse
When it comes to tech, performance is a must, but the visuals get the most appreciation. The Sharkk Wired Gaming Mouse does bring it come, with the tried and true black/gray body and blue lights. The shape of the mouse is of an ergonomic design, two buttons up top with a scroll wheel in the middle. For the right handers, there are also two buttons by the thumb, but they're only on that side of the mouse. Next to the wheel are two buttons to adjust the mouse DPI, something useful for gamers. Finally, one of my favorite features that has nothing to do with performance, is the wrapped cord. When I see this kind of feature, it's typically a sign that the company looked at their mouse from all angles to figure out the best way to make it.
A loaded chamber, something odd to hear for a mouse, but on the bottom of the mouse, you'll see a removable chamber that holds eight weights. This is a pretty sought after feature in gaming mice. Being able to adjust the weight can really change the feel of the mouse for gaming. I loved seeing this, but even with all of the weights, the mouse was still pretty light. That said, this is a laser optical mouse, so the movements should still be extremely precise feeling.
First Hand Experience
The Sharkk Wired Gaming Mouse feels pretty comfortable. It has the typical design you'd expect it to have, and nothing about it should throw you off. What makes this mouse so cool is that everything is programmable. Seven programmable buttons, unlimited macro configurations and 2 stored profiles, as well as a choice of 6 LED color options. This is all done through the included software, and is very straight forward to use.
As a mentioned earlier, the feel of the mouse is typical of most mice since it's such a universal design. It glides well as you move it, and even though it's not too heavy, it still feels very comfortable to use.
The Sharkk Wired Gaming Mouse is hard to beat for its price. It comes with all the features you'd expect from the higher priced gaming mice, and still delivers on the features and the ability to customize it. If you're looking for a new gaming mouse, but don't want to break the bank, this is a perfect place to start!
