One thing I really look forward to is being able to kick back for a few and do some gaming. Keeping things comfortable and getting better sound and a feel for the game are all what we want. So that's why we wanted to take a really close look at the Pulse BoomChair, a wireless gaming chair.
Out of the Box
The Pulse BoomChair is a fair size, and comfortably seats children and adults. The packaging is very simple, the seat and the back rest hinge and are folded together and held in the upright position by a single lock. This chair comes with a wireless transmitter, and just about every kind of cable you can think of. The chair has a decent size to it, but isn't noticeably heavy.
My First Hand Experience
Setting up the Pulse BoomChair didn't take more than a few minutes. There as a bunch of options of how to connect the sound, but whatever one you do pick, you won't need more than two cables. You have the option of plugging your devices directly into the chair or you can use the wireless transmitter. Personally, I opted for this over directly connecting the sound cables. I really like this option because it's less cable to trip up on, but the down side is that the wireless transmitter only runs on batteries and you will eventually need to change them. You'll still also have to plug your chair into a power outlet, so you're not cord free either.
Giving the chair a try was pretty great. It's easy to get comfortable in it since it's made to lean back to whatever position you want, and has two stoppers in the back to keep you from tipping backwards. The fabric is very padded and won't make things uncomfortable any time soon. The two speakers in the head rest are also a great feature. They don't blast directly into your ears, but they are directional enough, that you can turn down the TV and turn up the chair, and not disturb anyone else in the room. If you're also really looking to get into the game, there's a vibration setting built into the seat of the chair that you can adjust. So when people are taking shots are you in your games, you can feel things start to shake a bit more.
The price tag of $190 might be a little steep for some people, but if you're looking to have a comfortable gaming experience, this is the way to go. Comfortable seating, keeping the sound more localized to the gamer, and the mobility that only a chair like this can offer, this chair is a win in our eyes. We recommend everyone checking out the Pulse BoomChair.
